If Bismuth doesn’t Frankenstein the Diamond’s hand ships into one angry monster hand, I’m going to be severely disappoint!
“Don’t quote that back to me. My rules change all the time.”
It’s fascinating how similar the beats of The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos and Resolution are, and also showcases why TBRAK works as a penultimate episode to Resolution’s season 11 finale.
In TBRAK, Graham was determined to kill Tim Shaw or die trying but when he was given the opportunity to do so, Graham hesitated. The simple truth was, he isn’t a killer or a warrior.
The Doctor, much to their regret, is.
If Graham was unable to pull the trigger, for the Doctor, it was never even a question.
In Resolution the situation with the Dalek can only end in one way: a dead Dalek. When Thirteen told Graham ‘if you kill him, you become him’, it might have sounded like a moral platitude to Graham. He’s not (none of the Team are) aware that the Doctor knows this from experience and her simple: ‘I learned to think like a Dalek a long time ago.’ is both telling and devastating.
Graham puts down his gun.
The Doctor doesn’t use a gun, the Doctor melts the Dalek in its casing (seeking absolution from her friends first, offering a chance the Doctor knew the Dalek would never take) and when that didn’t work. The Doctor threw the Dalek into a supernova.
The Doctor’s “Don’t quote that back to me. My rules change all the time.” in TBRAK felt like it was flagging something the Doctor would do in the future, and true enough, this was the pass that granted: killing a Dalek.
The Doctor always was a ‘Do as I say, not as I do.” person.
It upsets me when I see people STILL claiming Jodie Whittaker is a terrible actress and not suited for the role of The Doctor.
First, the proof is right there in front of you haters that she can damn well act.
Second, this is borderline sexism: Matt Smith and Perter Capaldi were both criticised for being either too young or too old, but neither were ever judged on their acting experience.
Yet because Jodie Whittaker is a woman, suddenly she is questioned on both her looks AND her acting.
the issue with series 11 was definitely NOT her acting, it was the poor scripts, that’s way too obvious to deny srsly
Twelve to Bill: People are focused on themselves. They’re not thinking about you.
Missy: ever.
Twelve: that’s not what I meant
